To become a Sub Inspector of Police is not easy as we think. You need to do very hard work and smart study also.

Do you the work of SI Police officer? What is the work a SI police officer do?

A Sub Inspector give command or order for Head Constable, Constable and other staff of police Station.

SI police officer is the lowest rank officer who can submit the Charge Sheet in the Court under the Indian Police Rules & Regulations.

Qualification to become a SI police officer :

Candidate must have a Bachelor degree from any recognized College in any stream.

If you don’t have a degree then you can’t be appear in the SI exam.

Age Limit :

General : 21 to 28 Years

OBC : 21 to 31 Years (Relaxation of 3 yrs)

SC/ST : 21 to 33 Years (Relaxation of 5 yrs)

Syllabus :

Syllabus for SI officer is different for different state. But some Subjects are common in It.

If you prepare those subject very well then you can clear the exam. These are important Subjects.

Subjects : Mathematics, Reasoning & GK (General Knowledge).

Syllabus also have 2 parts.

  • Technical
  • Non-Technical

Technical :

In this you have to solve Objective type Questions of 100 Marks.

Duration is 2 Hours.

Physics : 33 Marks

Chemistry : 33 Marks

Math : 34 Marks

Non-Technical :

In this you have to solve Objective type Questions of 200 Marks.

Duration is 3 Hours.

Hindi : 70 Marks

English : 30 Marks

GK (General knowledge) : 100 Marks

Physical Requirements for SI :

MALE

Height : 170 cms (For general),

165 cms (For candidates belonging to Hill areas of Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Kashmir Valley, Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K, North-Eastern States and Sikkim)

162.5 cms (For all candidates belonging to ST {Scheduled Tribes})

Chest : 80 cms Unexpanded (for general), 85 cms Expanded.

80 cms Unexpanded (For candidates belonging to Hill areas of Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Kashmir Valley, Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K, North-Eastern States and Sikkim), 85 cms Expanded.

77cms unexpanded (For all candidates belonging to ST {Scheduled Tribes}), 82 cms Expanded.

RACE : 100 Meters in 16 seconds.

1.6 Kms in 6.5 Minutes.

LONG JUMP : 3.65 Meters in 3 chances

HIGH JUMP : 1.2 Meters in 3 chances

FEMALE

Height : 157 cms (For general)

155 cms (For candidates belonging to Hill areas of Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Kashmir Valley, Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K, North-Eastern States and Sikkim).

152 cms (For all candidates belonging to ST {Scheduled Tribes})

There is no minimum Requirement of Chest for Female Candidates.

RACE : 100 Meters in 18 seconds.

800 Meters in 4 minutes.

LONG JUMP : 2.7 Meters in 3 chances.

HIGH JUMP : 0.9 Meters in 3 chances.

Selection Process for Sub Inspector :

First candidate need to clear SI exam. SSC (Staff Selection Commission) Conduct the Exam for Sub Inspector Post.

SSC CPO exam you have to clear. After clearing written exam candidate will be called for Document Verification.

Documents : Candidate should have a proof Indian citizen and have Driving License.

After Document Verification, In Some states you may have to through the Interview.

Interview Tips : Be Active, Don’t get nervous, Answer the Questions very calmly, Get comfortable & Don’t be hesitate.
